This Seaweed Heart

This Seaweed Heart

This seaweed heart of mine swirling its tendrils
forth and back, all salty brine and see-through

love on my face, cheeks all sea urchins—oh, the
Atlantic Ocean of my blood, turtles lurking

in the depths of me, me catching the scent of You,
yes, You’re only a glimpse but I’ll swim with that,

I’ll float into that I’ll open my mouth to Your
saltwater unknown and even, even if I don’t drink

You in, You know I’ve tasted.
