Antistorm
Peter Longofono

Antistorm

Rain and its phantom sirens
overbrim, regressing. What
sounds remain won't

register in almost every case
but the stillest pools, upon
whose menisci a legendary
spider falsifies.

Science catalogues
the least mutter, ascribing
sweet aftermaths.

Twice the storm
outlasted my vigilance.

It broke all the vases in
the room in complete silence.
